Balloon Team spend Bank Holiday weekend in Scotland

The Group First Hot Air Balloon Team returned to the picturesque town of Strathaven (30 miles south of Glasgow) for the villages annual Hot Air Balloon Festival held over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The festival held in the grounds of Strathaven’s St Hastie Park, is a unique event in Scotland. Hot air balloonists gather from all over Britain to fly and display their balloons. The festival also featuring fair, stalls, music, family events, and of course lots of hot air balloons all bustling for attention and eager to set up their display for the spectacular ‘Evening Glow’ to all locals and visitors alike.

The Group First Team worked hard and managed to fly all available slots (Friday evening through to Sunday morning), also taking part in the Night Glow on Saturday evening.

ScotMid Coop has been supporting the event for a number of years and this year were successful in engaging a team of film producers filming around the event.  Check out the video of Group First Team spending the afternoon tethering the balloon.
