After opening our 11th and 12th self-storage centres in Derby and Glasgow in September 2014, we’re set to unveil a further 10 new sites to the public soon.

Centres are currently in varying stages of development in Birmingham, Bristol, Kidderminster, London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Northampton, Peterborough, the Ribble Valley and Sunderland.

We’ve increased our target from 50 Store First sites throughout the UK to a new total of 75 – with a target completion date of 2020.

Toby Whittaker, managing director of Group First – the parent company for Store First and its sister firms Business First, Park First and Residential First, said: “Moving the goalposts for expansion wasn’t part of our original plan but we’ve really hit the ground running with the newest Store First centres in Glasgow and Derby, with our more established outlets performing way above expectations too.

“Hitting 75 centres in six years’ time may seem idealistic to some but we love a challenge and we want to keep meeting demand. Storage customers love our refreshingly different way of doing things and our network of 500 global agents are desperate for more units to sell to eager investors, so we want to keep giving everyone what they want.”

Store First Glasgow is Europe’s largest self-storage facility, while Store First Derby is located in prime position opposite the city’s Pride Park football stadium.

Store First’s business model focuses on an upfront pricing system and additional free services for domestic and business customers. New and small businesses are encouraged to use Store First as their base, utilising free wifi, boardroom hire, mail and message services, gym and canteen facilities.
